Understanding the Active Voice in Հայերեն
Active voice in Հայերեն is used when the subject of the sentence is doing the action. It makes sentences clear and direct. In Armenian, just like in English, the subject performs the action described by the verb.
Important Points
  • The subject is the doer of the action.
  • The verb shows the action being done.
  • The object is the receiver of the action.
In sentences using active voice, the order is usually: Subject - Verb - Object. This means the person or thing doing the action comes first, then the action, and finally the person or thing receiving the action.
Examples
  • Ես գրում եմ նամակ։ (I write a letter.)
  • Մարիամը կարդում է գիրքը։ (Mariam reads the book.)
