Understanding Azerbaijani Verb Conjugation
In Azerbaijani, verbs are words that tell us what someone is doing or what is happening. Just like in English, verbs change their form to show who is doing the action and when it is happening. This is called conjugation.
Present Tense
The present tense is used to talk about things that are happening right now or things that happen regularly. In Azerbaijani, we change the end of the verb to show who is doing the action.
Important Points
  • Add '-am' or '-əm' for 'I'
  • Add '-sən' or '-san' for 'you'
  • Add '-dir' or '-dır' for 'he/she/it'
  • Add '-ıq', '-ik', '-uq', or '-ük' for 'we'
  • Add '-sınız' or '-siniz' for 'you all'

Examples
  • Mən oxuram.
  • Sən yazırsan.
  • O oxuyur.
