The Past Simple Tense in Italian is called 'Passato Remoto'. It is used to talk about actions that happened a long time ago, and are completely finished. This tense is often used in historical texts, literature, and sometimes in spoken language in the south of Italy.
How to Form the Past Simple Tense
In Italian, verbs are divided into three groups based on their endings: -are, -ere, and -ire. Each group has its own set of endings for the Past Simple Tense.
